I started this blog shortly before I decided to go back to school and complete my degree. Ergo, I have been missing from the blog scene for an entire year as I focused my time toward my education. Well, I can finally see the end! I can almost taste it!
During my second run at school, I have felt much more excited for learning, and much more excited to begin my full-time career in graphic design. As a result, my grades have been better than ever, and my attitude all through this last year has been much better than my first run at school. That being said, I’m so ready to be done.
Don’t get me wrong, my school is great, and my experience has been great. I don’t loathe my education experience at all. I’m just getting really stir-crazy. Especially considering that many of my classes as of late have focused heavily on career development. Just a couple weeks ago, I finished a course on Portfolio Development. So here are my next steps: First, I’m going to post this writing. Second, I’m working on some cool freelance projects. I’m hoping to write about/share them with you soon. Thirdly, I’m going to finish my degree between now and June. All the while working on further developing my portfolio and resume.
I have always said that I would rather skip out on “the walk” when receiving a college deploma. I did the same when I graduated high school. It’s just a formality in my opinion, and not contructive use of my time. However, this time… the closer I get… the more I think I’d like to celebrate graduating by taking that walk. I’m excited for what the future has in store.
